George Siciliano, of Lebanon, PA George took his first stitch in September 1997. In the eight years he has been quilting he has accomplished the following: “Quilters Heritage Celebration” 2003 in Lancaster Pa. His quilt “Soil Festivities” was awarded a first place in the miniature quilt category. This was his 2nd first place finish at that show in 3 years, and in Vermont at the Vermont Quilt Festival 2002 he was not only awarded “best miniature quilt” but also a purple ribbon for points. The only other “Purple ribbon” was awarded to “Best of Show”. He has accumulated over 62 ribbons from local, regional and international shows, with 21 of these being first place (blue). In the winter issue of Miniature Quilts Magazine they did a four-page article about his quilts. One of his quilts was featured in a book published by Rodale Press called Marvelous Miniatures. He’s demonstrated his techniques at the American Folk Art Museum in New York and one of his quilts has hung in the “Museum of the American Quilters Society” in Paducah Ky., as part of an exhibit called “Man Made Quilts”. He has been nominated by several quilters for “Quilt Teacher of the Year 2003” to the Professional Quilter Magazine. Together with his wife, Virginia, he has been team-teaching for several years
