Twigg Hatcher, Phyllis

Phyllis Twigg Hatcher is a quilt appraiser, certified by the American Quilter's Society. Phyllis is qualified to appraise both antique and new quilts, tops, blocks, and quilted wearable art. She is also a member of the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles. Phyllis does appraisals for insurance before a loss (stolen, lost, destroyed or damaged), fair market(for the sale of quilts), and donation purposes (as required by the IRS). Although Phyllis lives in Maryland, she spent her college years in Pennsylvania, graduating from both Muhlenberg College and Lehigh University. In 2001 she completed the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's three credit graduate course "History of Quilts" taught by Dr. Patricia Crews. Phyllis is the author of The Victorian Redwork Sampler Quilt. She lectures on quilt conservation , restoration, and quilt history and teachers quilting classes and workshops.
